PERSONAL CHOICE
PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE TO APPEAR AT UTAH STATE FAIR
Charles Jay anxious to
make personal contact with voters -- and to enter drawing for a
horse!!
CHARLES JAY, the
Utah-based Personal Choice Party's nominee for U.S. President, will
be offering voters the opportunity to meet and talk with a candidate
in this year's presidential election when he appears at the Utah
State Fair in Salt Lake City, it was announced today.
Mr. Jay will be stationed at the
Personal Choice Booth at the fair on Friday, September 17 and
Saturday, September 18 throughout the afternoon and evening. There
is the possibility that he will be present on Thursday, September 16
as well.
For the Personal
Choice Party candidate, whose name will be on the November 2
general election ballot, this is a unique chance to talk about the
themes of personal choice and "free agency" he holds in common with
Utah voters, and to meet face-to-face with people who are looking
for an alternative to politics as usual.
"There won't be any canned speeches," says Jay. "I'm
interested in talking with people on a one-on-one basis and finding
out what their concerns are. What I'm discovering more and more is
that people are growing tired of a two-party system that, in the
end, really offers the same thing - a more intrusive government. We
bring a fresh approach, based on the philosophy that people are
entitled to make decisions for themselves in every part of their
lives, and that society functions best when everyone respects each
other's right to make those personal choices.
"When people start to think about it, they respond to that
kind of message, which celebrates and expands liberty rather than
restricting it."
Jay will have campaign literature and fliers available in the
booth, as well as special campaign buttons featuring pictures of
both himself and his running mate, former adult film star Marilyn
Chambers.
And that's not all:
K.C. "Sarge"
Froehle, Personal Choice Party candidate for Salt Lake County
Council, District 2, has donated a horse to the
Personal Choice PAC, to
be given away in a drawing open to those who either register to
vote, or are already registered to vote, and who fill out an
application form at the Personal Choice Booth at the Utah State
Fair. The four-year-old quarter horse, estimated to be worth in the
neighborhood of $3500, will be given away in the latter part of
October. Officials of the Personal Choice Party feel this is an
ideal way to encourage Utahns to become part of the political
process between now and Election Day.
"Just think, you can meet Charles Jay AND have a chance to
win a horse," says Personal Choice Party Moderator Ken Larsen. "Wow!
What a combination."
