CHARLES JAY THANKS YOU AND ASKS FOR YOUR HELP

CJ FOR AMERICA

Charles Jay for President--Marilyn Chambers for Vice-President
Personal Choice Party

Dear Personal Choicer,

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone from the Party for being so hospitable, open and helpful during my September campaign trip to Salt Lake City for the Utah State Fair.

To those of you I met at the Personal Choice Convention in May, it was great to see you again. For those of you I met for the first time, it was a genuine pleasure. I can't begin to tell you how invigorating it is to be around people who actually stand for something, don't succumb to conventional politics as usual, and who don't mind transforming their beliefs into action, rather than conversation.

This party is onto something. One of the interesting things about working the Personal Choice booth at the Fair was seeing how people actually agree with us, but didn't really know it, or, who didn't realize there was a party out there to represent them. We changed some minds. We opened up some minds. I am firmly convinced that we have the ability to help those "undecided" voters make an intelligent decision on November 2.

The way I see it, who is going to argue with having more personal choice in their life? That's a good start. Now if we're able to convince people that they should stand up for everyone else's right to make personal choices as much as their own, we'll be all the way home.

Many of you know that I made a change of direction during this campaign season, opting ultimately to throw my hat in the ring for the Personal Choice Party presidential nomination. I can say unequivocally that it was the best decision I could have made, and I wouldn't change it for anything.

Although I try to act as professionally as I can, I am not a professional politician - just someone who had something to say, and felt the inspiration to stand up and say it. A little over a year ago, this wasn't even a thought in my mind, and the learning curve has been huge. There's still a long way to go, but this candidacy has nonetheless come a long way.

I thought it might be a good idea to let you know some of the things that have happened as a result of this campaign:

-- I have been contacted by people in at least 30 states who have interest in this candidacy and the PCP. There have been inquiries from five or six of those states about establishing a Personal Choice affiliate.

-- People who have been moved by the message of my candidacy have asked if they could assist in the national write-in campaign.

-- I have received numerous inquiries from dissatisfied members of other political parties and like the idea of the "big tent" aspect of the Personal Choice Party.

-- Stories about the campaign and the party have appeared in, or about to appear in, media outlets in France (Agence France-Presse), Germany, Great Britain, and other places I'm still just finding out about.

-- I was featured in a front-page story in the South Bend (Ind.) Tribune on July 15, with a huge picture draped over the fold.

-- Marilyn Chambers (our VP nominee) was interviewed for a story in the New York Press, New York City's alternative newspaper, featuring her vice-presidential candidacy.

-- Marilyn has appeared on various morning radio shows in major markets, and I have been on several radio shows myself, including the highest-rated weekend show in the Dallas market, and the largest spiritual radio station on the East Coast (WMCA-New York). More interviews are coming.

-- We gained exposure before thousands of people in Cleveland, at a major autograph show in which Marilyn gave out a number of campaign buttons and fliers. A lot of people were enthusiastic about the message. I heard from some of them.

-- I have been invited to speak to high school and college classes all over the country.

-- I represented the campaign as the party nominee at the first-ever Multi-Party Presidential Debate, on October 15 in Johnson City, Tenn. It will be televised on Free Speech TV, which is available on Dish Network (Channel 9415) and on the internet at http://www.freespeech.org. Broadcast times are October 29 at 8 PM, October 30 at 2 PM, and October 31 at 1 AM, 8 AM, and 6 PM (all times Mountain). The event will also be available on DVD from Mountain Eye Media. The price is $15 and will start shipping on October 22. For ordering information, please visit http://www.mountaineyemedia.org/debatedvd.html, or call 828-254-5580.

-- I have laid the groundwork for alliances with key constituent groups, namely gays & lesbians, adult entertainment advocates, and the gambling community.

-- We have helped drive traffic to the Personal Choice website through a feature story and inclusion among "Major 3rd Party Candidates" on the popular "Politics 1" website. It has also driven quite a bit of traffic to CharlesJay.com.

-- We are laying the foundation for internet radio programs that will be designed to spread the message of personal choice.

-- I did a great interview on a very popular website - AboveTopSecret News -- check it out at the following URL: http://www.atsnn.com/story/90673.html

-- We have received hundreds of inquiries solely on the basis of our internet presence - demonstrating that the internet can be a strong instrument for third party politics, and constructing a roadmap for us to do more and more with it.

Even with all this, we've only just scratched the surface. There is so much more to do, and seemingly never enough time to do it. Most of you are running campaigns, so you know what I'm talking about. I once again offer myself for any assistance you may need in the final days, as I think that is an obligation for someone at the top of a ticket. I would also like some help from you, if you don't mind.

We are entered in a couple of mock elections on the internet. In fact, in one of them, last I looked, we were actually in the lead!

In the other one, it appears as if the Libertarians have been able to galvanize some support for their candidate, and have used that in their publicity. We'd like you to get involved for the sake of the Personal Choice Party.

If you would be kind enough to cast your vote in support of the PCP ticket at each of the following sites, it would greatly appreciated:

This campaign is as much about the future as it is the present. Our objectives for the future are:

* To make the Personal Choice Party THE party of choice for the aforementioned disenfranchised, disgruntled groups who are not represented in government. Put a bunch of small minorities together, and you may just wind up with a majority.

* To achieve ballot status for the presidential ticket in at least 15 states, and more importantly, to be able to campaign aggressively in those states and others.

* To cultivate support in states across the country, in order to establish PCP affiliates who can help gain statewide ballot access for the Party.

* To create a consistent fund-raising apparatus, to be able to go anywhere, at any time, to spread the message of personal choice.

* To bring small political parties into the Personal Choice Coalition.

* To continue to make use of the internet, harnessing its power like no other third party candidacy ever has.

* To leverage the power of being published. Right now I am in discussions with publishers about three books - one of them my own philosophy of personal choice and changing the formula for electability; another is called "Wager Nation", about gambling as a political issue of choice; and another, yet-unnamed book will be about my 2004 campaign itself. That, combined with the printing of three electronic books related to my activism in the field of boxing regulation and reform ("Operation Cleanup", "Operation Cleanup 2", and "Body Shots") would give me as many as six books that will be released into the marketplace in the next four years.

Obviously, to accomplish all we want to accomplish, we will have to extend our campaign to 2008. I'll be exploring that very seriously, and would appreciate your feedback. I am proud to be your candidate, and would be even prouder to represent you four years from now. Of course, we've still got time to move toward our objectives during THIS election cycle. It's a sprint to the finish, and I've got my running shoes now!!

There is another way you can help us out - by donating whatever you can to this initial campaign to create a national presence for the Personal Choice Party. We still have some traveling to do (including, hopefully, a trip to Utah for Election Day), plenty of press notices to create and send, maybe even some internet advertising if we have the time. Every bit would help -- $10, $25, $50, $100, $1000.

If you are so inclined, please send it to our campaign committee - CJ FOR AMERICA, P.O. Box 534, Elkhart, IN 46515-0534.

Or if you decide not to - it's your choice!

Either way, we'd welcome your vote on Election Day and hope that you can encourage others to back the PCP ticket on November 2.

Thanks, and by all means, stay in touch.

Sincerely,

Charles Jay
YOUR Personal Choice Party Presidential Nominee
