CHARLES JAY URGES EVERYONE
TO SUPPORT FREE SPEECH COALITION
Their efforts make freedom of speech more free for all Americans, he says

Salt Lake City -- CHARLES JAY, the Personal Choice Party candidate for President, is a long-time writer and publisher who has, from time to time, incurred the wrath of the so-called "powers-that-be" for expressing what he believes in.

His running mate, MARILYN CHAMBERS, is one of the most celebrated adult entertainers of all-time.

As you can probably guess, this tandem has an affinity for the First Amendment and all things free speech-related.

Jay refers to himself and Chambers as the "free speech ticket", and with very good reason. "Both of us have walked that walk, so to speak," he says. "We haven't just spoken about it, we've lived it, where there was something to lose as a result. The other parties, when put to the test, haven't really followed that. They would think nothing of suppressing another candidacy; another point of view. It's happened to me already in this campaign."

Jay says the big test for citizens is how strongly they might stand up for the free speech rights of others, not just their own.

"If a person can visualize detesting someone else's opinion, but at the same time defending, enthusiastically, the right to express that opinion, then you are a true patriot."

The Personal Choice candidate advocates organizations that make a point of standing up for free speech in that manner. The Free Speech Coalition, for example, is one entity that dedicates itself to upholding First Amendment rights for all Americans, by way of its support of the adult film industry's right to free expression.

"They seem to understand the overall philosophy I espouse," he says. "And they perform a valuable public service. For example, George W. Bush has time and time again equated the adult entertainment industry with child pornographers and sexual offenders, seamlessly interchanging them, with no real distinction, when making declarations like 'Protection from Pornography Week'. This is an insult to the voter, and while the press has allowed him to go unchecked, the Free Speech Coalition has called him out on it, exposing the president's positions for the disingenuous, misleading scams they really are. We need people who can serve as the last line of defense against those who want to practice 'government by religion', and use it as a mechanism to limit out Constitutional rights. I like to think Marilyn and I are two of those people. And the Free Speech Coalition is made up of those people too.
